Por el bosque de Peloño

Hoy nos hemos dado el gustazo de rodar por uno de los hayedos más grandes y mejor conservados de Europa y que nos mostró toda su belleza otoñal.

Ruta circular: Santillán – Sobrefoz – Les Bedules – Peloño – Santillán (1/11/2015)

Longitud: 56 km / Tiempo: 4:30 h (con paradas) / Desnivel positivo acumulado: 1350 m

Ruter@s: Rosa, Mayte, Yoanna, Puri, Manuela, Noelia, Mariajo, Azu, Juan, Rubén, Javi, Juaco y Félix

Serían las 9:30 de la mañana cuando nos poníamos en marcha en Santillán (concejo de Cangas de Onís). Comoquiera que el bar del pueblo no estaba abierto nos encaminamos hacia Sellaño donde sí tendríamos la oportuna dosis de cafeína. Tras unos kilómetros llanos que nos permitieron ir espantando el fresco matinal comenzamos la subida a Abiegos. pelo3Un buen trecho de carretera con rampas muy considerables nos hizo entrar en calor rápidamente. A media subida tomamos un desvío a la derecha que por una comarcal encajonada en un espectacular bosque de robles y castaños nos hizo seguir ganando altura a buen ritmo.

Alcanzamos Sobrefoz tras luchar con las últimas curvas de fuerte porcentaje y nos tomamos un momentáneo descanso pues la subida ni mucho menos ha acabado; de hecho quedaba lo peor.pelo4 Rodando por la ladera del Recuenco nos enfrentamos a una pista a tramos de tierra a tramos de un hormigón rayado extremadamente pestoso y con unas inclinaciones salvajes. Llegamos a San Juan de Beleño y seguimos camino de Colladallonena, donde tomamos un desvío hacia Les Bedules. Aquí nos esperaban aún las rampas más castigadoras del día aunque la belleza del paisaje que se va dominando a esta altura compensaba el sacrificio.

Comtemplando las siluetas del Tiatordos y el Maciédome entre nubes negras que amenazaban lluvia llegamos al aparcamiento de Les Bedules justo cuando empezaba a chispear. pelo5Sin perder tiempo nos sumergimos en el idílico bosque de Peloño y rodando ligeras por toboganes empedrados que siempre mantienen su querencia ascendente llegamos al Collao Granceno. Para entonces la amenaza de agua no solo se ha disipado sino que incluso luce un estupendo sol. Así que, ya sin prisas, nos tomamos un descanso bien ganado para reponer fuerzas. Las subidas se han acabado y nos conjuramos para evitar disgustos en la bajada.

Nos lanzamos a un descenso vertiginoso que alternas tramos de piedra bastante técnicos con parches de asfalto de pendiente extrema. La hojarasca de los castañales supone un peligro por las piedras y hoyos que pueda esconder así que tomamos todas las precauciones. El antiquísimo camino de Víboli nos ve pasar camino de la Foz de los Andamios. Con mil ojos pero disfrutando de una bajada tan radical alcanzamos sin incidentes Puente la Huera donde celebramos la ruta con una magnífica comida antes de retomar las bicis para cubrir la docena de kilómetros que aún nos separa de Santillán, inicio y final de esta bellísima ruta otoñal.
