Desafío en los cordales de Lena

El flanco noroccidental del concejo de Lena fue el escenario elegido por Laura para poner una vez más a prueba el corazón y el músculo de Una a Una.

Ruta circular: Pola de Lena – Cuchu Puercu – La Cobertoria – Pola de Lena (24/5/2015)

Longitud: 35 km / Tiempo: 4 h (con paradas) / Desnivel positivo acumulado: 1200 m

Cerca de las 10 de la mañana dábamos las primeras pedaladas del día en Pola de Lena. Con dirección Norte seguimos las aguas del Caudal por terreno llano y asfaltado. Superando Vallina y Ujo llegamos a El Pedroso donde comenzamos a ganarle altura a la Sierra Diego. Unos 3 kilómetros de ascenso llevadero nos sitúan en Cenera. Rodamos ya con rumbo Oeste y después de Gallegos giramos hacia el Sur para afrontar por carreteras secundarias la subida al alto del Cordal de la Segá. Por pistas forestales seguimos ganando altura ascendiendo por la vertiente oriental de la Sierra La Golpeya.

Vamos casi dibujando la frontera entre los concejos de Lena y Riosa y aproximándonos al vértice con el de Quirós. El terreno es muy quebrado y disfrutamos de buenas vistas a la Sierra del Aramo y al valle de Brañallamosa. El día, que amaneció fresco, va ganando grados de temperatura y un horizonte despejado y azul invita al optimismo. Con casi 25 km en las piernas coronamos Cuchu Puercu por pistas de tierra con rampas considerables y nos regalamos un descanso bien ganado que nos permite reagruparnos. Giramos hacia el Este en bajada superando terrano de praderías y bosques para darnos de bruces con dos nuevas rampas.

Mientras ascendemos al Mayáu de Ablanedo reparamos en la compañía de dos clásicos de la primavera: las primeras golondrinas del año y el cacofónico festival de “grillovisión”. Se acabaron al fin las subidas, la carretera de La Cobertoria nos lleva en rápido descenso hasta Tablao rodando a la sombra de los cerrados bosques de Refuevos. Para no abusar del asfalto buscamos una vía más salvaje por la que seguir perdiendo altura y tomamos un camino pedregoso que entre zonas francas y pasos técnicos nos lleva por Riabona hasta cerca de Piedracea siempre con la compañía del arroyo La Xuga.

Con la meta ya cercana Palacios y la Pumará El Furusu nos ven pasar a buen ritmo con treintaytantos kilómetros en la mochila, casi cinco horas de ruta y más de mil metros de desnivel acumulado. Unas docenas de pedaladas más, plácidas y con terreno llano, nos devuelven a Pola de Lena donde celebramos una ruta sin incidentes, divertida y con un trazado original y variado. Magnífico trabajo de Laura para Una a Una premiado con una excelente mañana, despejada y cálida, y nuevo triunfo deportivo y aventurero para nuestro club.
