Fantástica la ruta costera que hoy nos guió Azu por el Paisaje Protegido del Faro de Cabo Peñas.

Salimos a las 10:00 del parking de autocaravanas de la playa del Arbeyal y por caminitos del barrio de Jove subimos a la Campa Torres. Bajada trialera a la ría de Aboño para, en Talleres Alegría, volver a subir la fuerte rampa que nos deja ya en la Senda Costera del antiguo Carreño.

Pasamos Xivares, El Tranqueru y la Ciudad residencial de Perlora, repleta ya de gente disfrutando de este magnífico día de playa. Continuamos hasta el camping y por el paseo llegamos a Candás donde nos detenemos a tomar un café y unas marañuelas.

Ascendemos a la reconstruida ermita de San Antonio para hacernos unas fotos en el Faro de Candás. Otra fuerte subida hasta el cementerio para luego disfrutar de la bajada hasta la playa de Antromero, que pasamos por la arena. Intentamos hacer toda la ruta sin pisar asfalto pero no queda otra que salir a la carretera, eso sí, lo imprescindible para bajar de nuevo a la Playa de Aramar.

Como la riada se llevó el puente ya hace años tenemos que pasar el río con las trotonas al hombro. Bajamos a El Dique, cruzamos un curioso puentecito y ya divisamos Luanco. Por sus callejuelas nos acercamos a la hermosa Iglesia de Santa María y la playa de Luanco. Junto a la urbanización tomamos la senda costera que por un bosque de pinos y tras una técnica bajada por escaleras, nos lleva a la playa de Moniellos.

Un nuevo repecho con escaleras nos conduce al área recreativa. Amplias praderías donde detenerse, pero dice nuestra guía que vamos muy lentas y que no se come hasta llegar al Cabo Peñas… Continuamos ruta hasta la impresionante playa de Bañuges. La bordeamos hasta el embarcadero. De nuevo un poquito de carretera, ya que la senda costera desaparece en El Monte, hasta llegar a las antiguas minas de hierro de LLumeres.

Fuerte bajada hasta el cargadero de mineral y vistas de su hermosa playa con marea baja. De nuevo fuerte subida a Viodo parta volver a bajar a su diminuta playa de cantos rodados. Ahora toca remontar el curso del río por un estrecho y empinado sendero de hierba. Y ya por pistas más llanas salimos al Faro del Cabo Peñas y sus impresionantes acantilados.
